Client: Jack Morton (UK)
NEWSUBSTANCE were approached by Jack Morton and tasked with the design, delivery and live activation of a giant Candy Crush Bear and assorted ‘candies’ as part of an ambitious PR stunt to launch Candy Crush Soda.
Our 7m Bear was raised a further 8m into the air as it was brought through London’s iconic Tower Bridge. Suspended from the front of the 20m floating pontoon our four, strategically located 1m ‘candies’.
NEWSUBSTANCE designed a large, sculpted Candy Crush Bear working to a clear brief from Jack Morton. Achieving the scenic detail on the Bear and candies was critical in safeguarding brand integrity. Working alongside multiple departments we provided an effective interface solution with the scaffold tower used to raise the Bear as well as robust internal platforms for the lighting department to illuminate the structure.
Our live team oversaw a smooth load in, tests and rehearsals before enjoying the best seat in the house as the giant, illuminated Candy Crush Bear proudly raised itself up and sailed down the Thames and through Tower Bridge!
