We have captivated audiences at several United Arab Emirates National Days over the years, and the 48th celebration saw us showcase the nation’s vibrant heritage in a completely unique way.

Response

As the birthplace of astronomy, the Middle East provided a rich canvas for bringing the awe of our planetary systems to life.

We took inspiration from the lunar cycle and star maps that are central to the region’s heritage to create an unforgettable installation depicting the moon phases.

It could have been executed with projection or video, but we knew a physical centrepiece would allow the story to shine as an engaging, expressive symbol. We collaborated with Betty Productions to engage physical transformation and deliver a true spectacle.

A series of giant, hand-crafted moons rose from within the stage to show the evolution of the lunar cycle – the skyward display that unites us all as humans, wherever in the world we are.
