When creative agency, M-is, commissioned us to deliver a spectacular opening moment for the Dubai World Cup, we worked collaboratively to create a captivating physical spectacle.
Response
Taking inspiration from the power and freedom of human movement, we created two giant puppets to lead the show’s central narrative.
Known as ‘Alchemists’, these marionette-style humanoid structures were operated by hand, with a ground-based crew like a giant marionette, running and jumping to propel each puppet forward.
The Alchemists expressed the power of human performance at a grand scale, elevating the story of the ceremony by leading an iconic, sweeping parade through the stadium.
