For the opening ceremony of Dubai’s long-awaited 2020 Expo, we collaborated with producers, FiveCurrents, to dream up and deliver an unforgettable experience.
Response
We brought bravery and imagination from conception to execution, collaborating to devise a strong original pitch, provide consultancy for the ceremony and deliver two pivotal live moments for the show.
Working with complete creative freedom, we took inspiration from Planet Earth’s origin story to create a powerful finale moment. As the ceremony drew to a close, a molten fireball rose above the audience, where it evolved into a vibrant globe and dispersed into a veil of stars. This unfolding narrative of global growth and connection captivated thousands of viewers in the room, plus millions more online.
For the final flourish, giant effervescent clouds danced overhead as Ellie Goulding performed – bringing elemental forces to life with a unique display of possibility, strength and transformation. Imaginations soared as we set the tone for an Expo full of bold opportunities.
