Commission

When the hit Netflix series, Stranger Things, was ready to captivate theatre audiences, we were approached by production company GBA and producer Sonia Friedman to create a compelling onstage experience.

Response

What started as an idea for animating the series’ Demobats quickly became full design and delivery of hyper-real vines for the show’s mysterious alternate dimension: The Upside Down.

Our enthralling, twisting vines captured the audience’s imaginations, drawing every viewer into the gripping adventure unfolding onstage.  As the psychic humanoid villain, Veckna advanced, we automated tendrils to create a sense of creeping dread – and keep every spectator on the edge of their seat.
